Does she need to carry the bag? At our kids camp the counselors/staff carry the bag up to the cabins and out of the bus/car. |

Headlamp instead of a flashlight |
My kids camp in the Poconos and we’ve never needed more than a sweatshirt and a pair of pants. It’s usually quite hot except during the evenings when they put on the top. We’ve never had an issue packing a daily outfit (with shorts) - I usually put it in a ziplock bag so the kids just pull out a new outfit every day. My kids get way too dirty to reuse clothes. I’d ditch the extra jean jacket and sandals - wear the sneakers and just pack the slides/flip flops for shower and waterfront. Keep in mind that some camps sell branded sweatshirts that she might like to buy rather than pack. |
Thank you all! |
Check camp rules. None of ours allows a Kindle. |
My DD is at a camp in New England now and it was in the low 40s in the night and pretty cold. Def needed sweats and sweatshirt. I’d bring 2 pairs of PJs, not 5. I’d consider packing wool tshirts and socks so you get more wears out of them without smelling as much. I’m happier rewearing shorts and pants than T-shirts so I wouldn’t cut too much in shirts ( or underwear or towels). |
Maybe you could show her how to wash a shirt in the sink with shampoo? It might lessen the anxiety of not packing enough. |
New England and Poconos are very different in the summer though. |
