Shark threads

Oh please save this one. Classic madness, totally hilarious reading material.

Jeff, if I get eaten by a Cape Cod shark, I'm suing you for not telling me that there are sharks who live in the ocean.

I don't know if you folks bother to read earlier posts in this thread, but I thought I explained it very clearly. While some posters may authentically be interested in sharks, there is one poster who believes any post about Cape Cod is part of an organized campaign to harass her. There are other posters who attempt to antagonize her for entertainment. They have even given her a nickname. So, a lot of those posts get removed.

As I understand from the poster above, if you go to a beach in Cape Cod, there will likely be wall-to-wall shark warnings with helicopters flying above and special apps to provide information about sharks sightings. Given those circumstances, anyone who needs to rely on DCUM to learn about sharks will probably be eaten regardless. In the meantime, nobody can be bothered to offer advice about where to get a cup of coffee. The only information anyone will provide about Cape Cod is about sharks. It's a very strange situation.

Would you like me to post photos of the signs? I can do that for you. If you do visit and you go to the Beachcomber in Wellfleet, there is one sign there. You see them on the ocean side, not so much the bay side.

The coffee thing was pretty hilarious. Up and down 6A and 28 (which run the length of the Cape on each side) as well as 134, a cross road mid-Cape, there are plenty of bakeries, coffee spots, little grocery stores, large grocery stores with Starbucks inside etc. And there are DD’s EVERYWHERE. Unless this individual just wants to walk out their door and fall into a coffee place, they are clearly not even looking for one. I can leave my house in a very residential beach area, and walk 1/2 mile to not only a coffee place, but also a bakery, a little grocery store, a specialized donut store, etc. People can’t expect to go on vacation and not do a simple online search of their area. And there are little detailed maps and brochures EVERYWHERE for tourists.

None of that tells me where to get a good cup of coffee.

I don't have to. The information is all over the Cape. I assume you can read? Do on online search?

Tell me where you stayed and I'll tell you exactly where you can get a cup of coffee.

I think swimming with seals sounds fun. It's a great activity, especially off the beaches of Wellfleet and Chatham. Give it a whirl! It's a favorite activity for DC area tourists.

Frankly, be glad they are whites and not bulls.

Not a cup of coffee, a good cup of coffee. I can get coffee at 7-11.

See, this is why we still like you even when you delete stuff right and left. You make censorship funny

I’m still miffed about the soccer forum registration, but this was pure comedy gold.

If you are mid-Cape, Buckey's in Dennisport or Underground Bakery or the Merc. in Dennis proper. Chatham has all sorts of places on the main drag. Starbucks is in Stop and Shop on 134 and DD is across the street if you are a creature of habit. Petersen's on the Dennis/Yarmouth line. That's but a small few. Brewster and Orleans also has some great places and I don't even have to mention the charms of P-town. If you can't find good coffee there, you are not looking.

Agreed! If the pp can’t find a good cup of coffee, the issues run deep.

This thread exemplifies why I can't quit DCUM even though we haven't lived in DC for years.

Reading this now from a beach on the Cape - I missed the coffee thread and now I’m regretting. Chocolate Sparrow forever, provided you survive the sharks at Nauset!

Lucky! What area are you staying in? Orleans? Love Chocolate Sparrow. Love Snow's too across the street (kinda). There's a fun vintage clothing store nearby as well and the used book place in the back of where the shoe place is, is pretty cool too!
