Bull sharks do this. Great Whites, not so much. They have very good eyesight unlike bulls. People get into trouble with whites when they swim with sharks or surf/paddle board as their shape makes them look like seals from below. |
We’re in Florida now... Which months of the year are least likely for shark attacks? Anyone know? I generally only wet my feet in the ocean these days. |
Stay outta the shark’s house! Awesome YouTube video. |
Tell that to the guy without a foot |
So we should trash our oceans so we kill off wildlife/sharks? You sound as looney as the anti-shark/anti-reality lady. |
+1 |
No, we need sharks. they are important in the circle of life. |
We kill more sharks than they kill us. One person without a foot and meanwhile millions of us swim there every day. Get a grip. |

Two things you can do to help avoid a shark attack—
Don’t swim late afternoon or dusk. That’s dinner time for them. Avoid swimsuits with reflective or shiny parts. They can look like fish scales and attract a shark. Climate change has some effect because seal populations are moving as waters warm. Offshore wind farms have some effect with disrupting migration paths. But the biggest factor is that there are a lot more humans, who are taking more vacations and staying for longer and doing more high risk activities like surfing and body boarding. |
