| Definitely field hockey. If in Arlington, there is a league. |
No, she doesn't. She had been doing girls on the run but she doesn't really like it. We'd prefer that she do team sports. |
| My rising 4th grader plays Ultimate frisbee and is involved in a track program. |
| Most sports have a rec, development and try-out level team offering in fall, winter and spring. At the try out level it may span 6-10 mos season. At tween ages it’s 2 practices and a game/meet a weekend, at teen level it might be more. |
Softball makes sense if she doesn’t like tons of running but is willing to sprint to a base or to catch a ball fast. |
Softball or lacrosse might be really good then. They aren't specifically fall sports, but people play year round and if she starts in the fall she'll have skills by the spring. Volleyball is a sport a lot of kids start a little later and play year round. |

Thanks, softball and volleyball sound like they might work. I'll look into those. |

| Softball is fine. There is going to be something of a learning curve, but generally speaking it's a lot easier for a girl to go into softball at that age than for a boy to go into baseball. Likely there will be a couple other newbies on the team with her. |
Agree. My DS has played baseball since K and I sometimes felt like he was behind since he did not start in preschool! My DD has played softball since K but there have been tons of girls new to the sport every year including 4th grade. Yes, there is a learning curve and you can't just hide in the crowd like you can with a lot of other team sports, but that is what I love about it. Where do you live OP? |

| Another vote for softball! Mine started in fifth with minimal knowledge of the game. It wasn’t too late at all. |
| Damn straight my girl plays volleyball |
| Basketball isn’t a fall sport!!! |
