| DD is looking to try a new sport in the fall and she's not interested in soccer -- what other options are there for a rising 4th grader where she won't feel behind? |
| Track or field hockey? |
| Field hockey, girls on the run |
|
Ice skating, dance, basketball, gymnastics, tennis, theatre, piano.
Some aren't sports, or specific to fall, but neither of my girls are competitive except against themselves. |
|
At the high school level the girls' sports are:
Cross Country Volleyball Soccer Field Hockey Tennis Of course there are also kids who play other sports: Lacrosse, ice hockey, baseball/softball, basketball, track, ultimate, golf, year round |
| Fencing. My DD started when she was in 4th grade after not ever wanting to do sports. |
| I just suggested rec soccer on the other thread because I didn’t see she wasn’t interested. How about field hockey or volleyball? Lots are just starting out with these. |
| Volleyball |
| Softball. Lots of girls don’t start until 3rd or 4th and it is really a Spring sport so in most leagues Fall is more developmental and a good time to start. |
| One question I'd have is whether she already has a winter/spring sport, and my other is whether she has opinions on individual vs. team. |
| Ice hockey, basketball, field hockey |
| It’s not seasonal but my 10yo does swimming twice a week and jiu Jitsu twice a week. She wants to try basketball in the fall and we might do I9 sports because it’s only once a week on Sunday afternoons for 6 weeks. |
| Swimming. |
| Ultimate Frisbee |
| Basketball |
