Joan Jett has a fantastic cover of this. That’s how I know it although I’ve never watched the show.
The Friends theme was a single that charted as well. The producers wanted REM’s Shiny Happy People but the band turned them down. |

| Dawson's Creek. I still have to fight myself to not sing along every time "I Don't Want to Wait" plays at the grocery story (which is surprisingly often.) |
| Sopranos. Woke up this morning… |
That one I think was already being played on the radio and became successful on its own right first, and then was used as the Dawson's Creek theme. |

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale A tale of a fateful trip That started from this tropic port Aboard this tiny ship The mate was a mighty sailing man The skipper brave and sure Five passengers set sail that day On a three hour tour, a three hour tour The weather started getting rough The tiny ship was tossed If not for the courage of the fearless crew The Minnow would be lost, the Minnow would be lost The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle With Gilligan The Skipper too A millionaire and his wife A movie star and all the rest Here on Gilligan's Isle |

*Throws beret in the air!* I have this on my Spotify playlist. Love, love, love. |
Wasn't that another one which was released first and then later used for the show? |

I know every one of these songs but I also watched every one of these shows as a child of the 80s (except Hill Street Blues - I definitely know the theme, but that show was for my parents 😊).
Hmm, a theme song I know but didn’t watch the show - Miami Vice, Dallas and the Andy Griffith Show |
