this. My kid is 10 now and it varies. Some kids meals are bigger than others. |
we don’t eat out much and my 10yo is a good eater too. But if she wants chicken nuggets and fries when we go out it’s fine with me. Even if you go out once a week, one crappy meal out of 21 meals is ok. |
My 11 most healthy kids are eating more than an adult woman. |
| My 11 yo orders two kids meals and two milks. He's not an adventurous eater. |
Maybe if they are chubby. |
What? Kids meals for active 11 year olds are small. But then mom is probably ordering a side salad, no dressing. |
|
Around age 3 for one of my kids. The kids meal stuff would go untouched and they'd want the "good stuff" on other family members plates. Another kid would prefer the kids menu through the teen years, though now would probably need to eat 4 kids meals to fill up.
I wish more restaurants had kids meals that were just smaller portions of the regular food, not totally different stuff with almost no vegetables. For my one kid who chose to be vegetarian, the kids meal often only offered buttered noodles. |
Kids meals at the sit down restaurants we go to are plenty of food. Where are you going? Chick FIL A? |
| My girls are both skinny (30 & 50 % weight) and ages 8 & 10. Both have tastes that have progressed way beyond most kids' meals. For example, my 8 year-old LOVES oysters and really any other non-fried seafood. My 10 year-old would be willing to eat all the Brie cheese/crackers in the world. So we've been trying to accommodate their taste buds with appetizers or small plates from the adult menu. |
| 11 for one, 8.5 for the other. |
| I’m surprised anyone’s kids are still hungry after finishing a kid’s meal. In my experience they’re as big and caloric as an adult’s meal should be. |
| 5. She likes to eat what we eat. We often share if portions are big or let her order from the reg menu. |
| Depends. My older is 12 and still orders off the kids menu usually. My younger is 8 and prefers the options on the adult menu and has for a few years. She doesn't like the typical kids' menu fare. Sometimes the portions are big and we just bring home leftovers. |
|
It depends entirely upon the restaurant. My older daughter is 14 and can still pass for a younger child if the kids’ menu goes up to, say, 13 and she wants it. Or sometimes we will order one adult entree for both girls (14 and 9) to split and add a side salad (also split).
So, it really depends upon your kids, their activity level, maybe their gender, and of course the restaurant. |
| I’m 40 and order off the kids menu for take out (bbq, pasta, Outback). |
