I hate stretching.

44 and have seen fewer injuries when I do yoga weekly and I have to stretch 10 minutes or more after exercise. I'm like the PP who found tight muscles were causing serious back problems.

I originally thought yoga would be really boring, but when I first started I did vinyasa, which moves quickly and is challenging, and I love it.

I do the bare minimum when it comes to stretching because I am usually pressed for time.

But every now and then I'll do a long yoga session and I can always feel how tight my muscles are. And the deep stretch just feels amazing.

One thing you could try is to force yourself to stretch, but let yourself hold the stretches for a shorter time or do a modified version of the ones you particularly hate. Even if longer holds are better or the full version of a stretch is better, doing it at all is better than not doing it. So it's a mental trick and maybe you'll find yourself more willing to do it if you don't expect perfection.
