Another Parkway fan! It’s a Jewish deli but it checks every other box (and is in moco). |
| Original pancake house isn’t exactly this but isn’t far off |
| The Atlantis in Alexandria would be similar to what you're looking for (Greek/Italian) but it closed during Covid. Primo's in the Belle View Shopping Center (Fairfax County part of Alexandria) is another Greek/Italian restaurant but they skew much more Italian these days imo. Very good but definitely not a traditional mid-west Greek diner! |
| This place is really good! http://athensgrill.com/mobilemenu/ |
| There are no Midwestern-style Greek diners here b/c Greeks did not settle here in large numbers like in Detroit/Chicago/Cincinnati. I second Nick's and Parkway, for actual Greek food we like The Big Greek Café which has locations in SS/Bethesda. |
Okkkkkkk. We did have a bunch, but they closed due to development pushing them out. The Amphora was iconic as was Atlantis. Generations of locals were brought up going there day and night. It was a big loss when they closed. |
| My goodness I miss Amphora - both of them. Many happy memories. |
+1 |
| City diner on rte 7 at Carlin springs- between gas station and Bamian restaurant. |

I love Big Greek Cafe. It's not what you are looking for, but the food is delicious.

They have a sibling restaurant in Alexandria. https://www.iloveolympians.com/ |
+1 to Olympians. There's also Primo Family Restaurant in Belle View (south of Old Town): https://primofamilyrestaurant.com/ |
| 2 chefs in Arlington might work for you now that Atlantis closed. I grew up with Greek diners (shoutout to Pete's Greek Town) and do not find that a Jewish Deli like Parkway scratches the same itch, though it is good. |
| Anthony's in Falls Church |

Vienna Inn, in Vienna
Don’t know who’s Greek there, but it’s the only place I could think of that is somewhat similar to the Greek diners of my Midwestern youth They do take credit cards (now) |
