And then blamed parents for equity issues in the school system when some formed pods to try to juggle working and virtual school. That’s the guy!

And shamed parents who formed learning pods for being elitist and against equity. Don't forget that part.

Unless the school board finds someone interested in educating all children and not their own brand and personal agenda, we will continue down the same path we’ve been on all along. A public school district’s philosophy, mission, and reason for being should be to provide a high quality education for all children. Full stop. Anything else is a distraction. Anti-racism, safety issues, equity issues, all of those mean nothing if you fail to provide a high quality education for everyone. If you somehow managed to provide a high quality education for everyone, it’s because you’ve achieved equity in your schools. Equity isn’t a goal, it’s a means to an end. Safety in schools isn’t a goal, but if you don’t have it, how can you provide a high quality education for everyone when teachers, staff and children aren’t safe?

Well-said. Totally agree with this.

Absolutely agree that is the goal - but schools that are inherently unsafe will never be able to provide a high quality education

Oh my, you people certainly are misguided and ignorant. It will be interesting to see if you are capable of learning the lesson that is going to be taught to you over the next year or two. Let's reconvene next year on June 10th and we can see if you've been schooled.

Hutching's departure is devasting news for Alexandria and its children.

Why do you say that?

GMAFB.

He's also the guy who said, on video, that the schools had been closed due to the dual pandemics of 1) covid and 2) systemic racism. Racism closed the schools. Yet he's in charge of when the school could open, yet he kept them closed. So therefore, is he racist?

I am a little suspicious that he's leaving like this, and am waiting for another shoe to drop.

Why is his last day August 31, 2022, when the next school year begins on August 22, 2022?

That’s my point. Equity, school safety, when they fall apart the public school system fails.
