🏡🎼LET’S MAKE DC A SANCTUARY🚴🏻‍♀️🧘🏽‍♀️

Please don’t use foul language in public! Please don’t pollute our shared spaces by smoking tobacco or marijuana out doors!

Sounds more like ethnic cleansing.

Its racist to imply that for cleaner neighborhoods, an ethnic cleansing would need to occur.

Pick up trash around your neighborhood. I wish those old newspaper boxes/apartment guide boxes that aren't used could be discarded.

I'm so tired of smelling marijuana 24/7 here. Tired of it.

can we repeal it? It was a popular vote thing right? Can we put it up for repeal? Not unheard of.

Make brief eye contact and nod and smile or give some human acknowledgment, if you feel safe to do so.

Take the Metro or walk instead of drive when you feel safe to do so.

Financially support homeless shelters, animal shelters, soup kitchens, rehab centers and any other organization that does good work in your neighborhood or in DC.

In any situation where you can choose to be patient, kind or simply turn away from someone acting up, do so instead of confrontation if you feel safe to do so, unless it is racist or hate speech, in which case speak up if you can.

If you pass by people that become familiar faces, say hello and introduce yourself and learn their name. Greet them by name.

If you see something, say something.

This. I would also add: pick up litter and recycling and put it in the bin when you see it on the sidewalk/at the park/in the playground. (Since OP mentioned cleanliness as well. Fortunately, DC has many public trash cans so this isn't super onerous.)

I've seen DC kids throw wrappers on the floor literally 10 feet from a trash can. That is the height of clueless stupidity, laziness and disrespect. Yes, I yell at them for it. "Do you throw trash on the floor in your house and not get your ass beat for it?"

As I said, when they say “clean” they mean “ethnic cleansing”.

You can try but it won't win

Can you define hate speech?

I’ll give you the best resource I can, which are the words of one of my favorite law professors, Frederick Lawrence. He’s written several books and papers on the topic, here’s one that is easily accessible:

Don’t bother trying when the person who asked you to define it wasn’t actually seeking information, or even your perspective.

Until y’all mentioned ethnic cleansing is not until I realized you are gross. And now I’m out. Justifiably

I would like more street musicians. I miss that Metro Center trio that always sang Rockin Robin. And that Spanish guitarist by Farragut West. I love the gogo drums too, but in a park or something away from the offices.

Are you the OP? You start a thread that’s a big racist dog whistle and then don’t like being called on it.

I can.

If you hold or express views that a typical maga would agree with, you’re practicing hate speech.
