I have Saucony peregrine shoes I love |
Another vote for Merrill. I have a pair that's waterproof that I wear for hikes but also for walking the dog or any other time I want to get out for a walk but it's wet/raining. I love Hokas for running and normal neighborhood walks, but I prefer the stability of the Merrill's for any uneven terrain. |
Danner is my choice. https://www.danner.com/men/mens-most-worn/trail-2650-3-brown-red.html |
do you need ankle support? I super love my Altra Lone Peak trail shoes. |
Another vote that you go to REI for a fitting. They got my into an Oboz hiking boot that I love for hiking and dog walking in the fall/winter mess. Super lightweight and fits really well. They were out of my size and the guy told me to order it on Zappos! They also found me a Vasque winter snow boot that fits beautifully and is super warm. I have really hard to fit feet, so this says a lot about their shoe dept. Most just tell me that they can't help. |

These are awesome particularly if you like to have your toes spread out to encourage feeling the ground more securely. I like them a lot more than the ultra cushy Hoka type shoes where I can't feel the ground at all. They have a women's version but don't see it on the website for some reason. |
