College and University Discussion
Apparently, you do. |
| Looking at Oakton's decision only 70 of 600+ have posted. Cornell, Penn, Cal and Vanderbilt. None URM nor athletes |
At our high school, the sports recruits to top schools keep that point out of their conversations! |
Largely true - but not completely. |
THIS. No it admits to it anymore! |

About 6 to Yale but as PP has pointed out, mostly athletes. Several to UVA and WM.
Wide range of schools and the kids I know did a good job of looking for what suited their goals and personalities rather than status. One that got into several 5% schools. Statistically improbable so I can’t help but be curious. |
Thanks. |

It's largely true that students from every group aren't headed to the Ivies, and that talented kids go to a variety of colleges. That's not unique to white kids, rich kids, URM kids, Langley kids or any other group. |
I don’t believe for a second Langley has six seniors going to Yale. |
| In addition to recruited athletes, it would be interesting to note the number of legacy admits. |
Yep, no way in hell that's true. |
I’m a Langley parent and I don’t believe that either. I know of one going to Yale and two going to UPenn, as well as the others listed. Of course, there could be more I don’t know about.

+1. Of course it’s true. (Also a past Langley parent) |
