Sandwich/wrap tray from a grocery store with veggies, a tray from Chipotle, anywhere that does lunch or fast casual should be able to put together a platter quickly. If you tell us your location we can be more specific. You might have to call a few places.
If all else fails, pizza delivery is perfectly acceptable. |
Yeah - if they are all going to the confirmation - they will not have eaten. I would ask a close friend to go to Costco and pick up some trays/platters. Also, I like Chick Fil a for trays of nuggets, wraps, and fruit. |
Chick FIL a is closed on Sundays. |
Oh whoops - chick fil a is closed - sorry - just go to Costco |
| Presumably most of these guests are also mourning your loved one, right? I doubt anyone will notice if you just pick up a sandwich tray, some fruit, and a cake at the grocery store even if you'd never throw a party like that in "normal" times. Allow yourself to phone this one in, OP. |
| Potbelly or Panera only need an hours notice, get a sandwich tray with chips, cookies and salad |

Thanks everyone! It was a 1:00 confirmation service, guests all drove from between 25 min to 2 hrs to get there. I ended up running to our local grocery store’s deli counter, loaded up on premade salads, precut fruit, slider buns and sliced meats/cheese. Made slider deli sandwiches and dumped the rest of the stuff into bowls along with some veggies. Turned out really well, everyone ate more than I expected, and now we have two full frozen custard pies left over.
About 75% of the guests were mourning the same family member with varying degrees closeness. The non-mourners aren’t the helpful ones in the family so they wouldn’t have been inclined to go out of the way to pick up anything. Ended up being a nice event. Thanks everyone! |
