Does anyone else think Pete Buttigieg has had a ton of airtime for a transportation secretary?

Short memory, huh? Where was he when all the supply ships were circling the waters of LA's harbors for months? He f'd that one up.

I was told the shelves would be empty for Christmas…
But they weren’t. Pete really did a great job.

Was he stocking the shelves with naughty elves?

You don’t run a business obviously…… supply chain is still strangling small business in this country.

It wasn’t that bad. Don’t care.

Well know because of his presidential campaign.

Sounds like a free market problem.

I'm a swing voter who currently identifies as republican, and I prefer to get to know my options. Pete seems to spend a lot of time in the public, after his eternal parental leave anyway.

4 weeks of parental leave is “eternal”? Europeans are given 4 weeks of vacation let alone doing something as important as parenting. What motivates people like you to be cheerleaders for corporations to make us their slaves? Isn’t life for living and spending time with family and not just working at a job?

Live within your means and you do not need to work for a corporation who treat you like a slave. Hyperbole much!

Nobody is forcing you to work full time. Take a part time job. I know lots of people who just work as part timers on an hourly rate.

Four weeks? Someone's got amnesia. The man was gone for 3 months while the ports backed up and even worse he didn't appoint an Acting Secretary because he knew it would look bad to have someone else serving in the role longer than he'd actually been appointed.

Of course, he’s being used more than any cabinet member in history.

And, yes, he will be president one day.

I volunteered for his campaign, and I'm doubtful of this. He just didn't end up resonating enough with voters. But he's definitely impressive and has a strong career ahead of him. I know people who know him personally, and they say he was always clearly headed for big things. I hope it's more than cable news, though. Post-transportation secretary I could maybe see him high up in university administration and then eventually in a higher profile cabinet position (like Sec of State). Unless the US electorate changes significantly or Buttigieg does, I struggle to see him winning nationwide office.

When someone is that good, you put him out there.

100% this. Plus the infrastructure bill is arguably the Biden administration's biggest accomplishment and the majority of that money is going to transportation projects.

I'm doubtful too and I am a huge supporter. In particular, he doesn't have much support from Black voters which is why he fizzled out after Iowa and NH. On the other hand, he is incredibly smart so I would never rule him completely out and I hope he finds a way to get it done. I would be very disappointed if he ended up on cable news and I really doubt that's what he's aiming for.

Good for you.

I’ve been a member of Team Pete since day one, and I think he will become POTUS. Goodness knows, this country needs that man right now.

…and I am a Black woman, and his support from Black people is just fine. Please don’t repeat media talking points to me.

Find it funny PP focused on that but Pete would never get support from the the 97% Christian White Midwest where he was born-and-raised. Instead of blaming minorities, take a look at your own demographics. The same sort of people sunk Clinton for the exact same reason - there was something they didn't like about them.

PP. I didn't say he didn't have support from ANY black voters. And it's not a media talking point, it's poll numbers.
