How do people still not know that the only real answer here is Vienna?

You're too poor for private and too racist for public. Your kids re at a serious disadvantage with a parent so dumb.

If ugly means great community, excellent schools, nice size yards and relatively affordable then I guess I'll take ugly.

Vienna's an option if you can find a house with a half-acre, but to suggest it's the "only real answer" is just shudder-inducing cringe.

Great Falls. Specifically the parts that are more neighborhoody -- mostly south of Georgetown Pike.

Very good schools, plenty of space (every lot in GF is at least 1/2 acre), and tons of community, neighborhood, friend activities.

Without budget info, there is not much point in answering. The Vienna boosters are here but unless you want to spend $2M on a new build, that might not be doable.

We live in a family friendly neighborhood with lots of community activities in FFX. Our neighbors have 4 kids. We have 3. It works. We're zoned for Robinson and live in KPW. These are not new build homes, though.

So, it depends how much you are able to spend and what you are looking for.

Translation: Del Ray schools have too many brown kids to suit DCUM women's racist taste.

I think it's also just that people around here have insanely high standards for "good" schools. The school system I grew up in had illiterate 8th graders, lots of kids with fetal alcohol syndrome, free breakfast due to widespread poverty, etc. Y'all don't know what a bad school is

There are plenty of nice houses in the 1-1.5 range in Vienna.

Vienna just blows. You have to drive everywhere all the time. And the housing stock is tired, outdated, builder grade slop.

Plus, youre just breathing the carcinogenic exhaust from 66 all day every day.

Hard pass.
