I’m a NP and have heard of more recent cases and the thought did cross my mind. Especially when the nurse looked at my baby then my husband and asked who was part Asian (neither of us are) because my baby looked Asian. He was also a spitting image of my father in law so there was not really a worry, but postpartum you have lots of insane and irrational thoughts.

The answer to OP’s real question is that you never know. It’s obviously so incredibly rare so the risk is also so so incredibly low. I would think if you had any doubts about your doctor you just have to trust your gut and find a new one you trust.
