I found the opposite to be true. I always have to order a size larger than DD's current shoe size. I'd get the 7. |
My DS is a 6.5w in SR and fits a 7 Keen H2. However, the earlier styles of Keen sandals are too narrow for his feet.

| We tried them on and also found that we needed to go up a size as compared to stride rites. The smaller size was way too small. However the larger size was also too long. I did not like how much of a gap there is between sizes ( no half sizes) so were sticking with stride rites for now. |

My (b/g) twins had W and XW feet last summer, and the keens we tried on didn't fit at all. If they fit width-wise they were way too long. This summer, they've grown a bit, lost some baby fat and are both wearing medium-width, half sizes. For one, we had to go up a half-size to get a good fit, for the other, we had to go down.
In short, whether to size up or down depends a lot on foot shape, but if your kid is truly a W/XW width, I doubt they are the shoe for her. |
| They can size/fit you at Nordstrom too. They have a decent number of Keens to choose from. |

For our older child we sized at Nordstrom but they did not have the color we wanted so ordered from endless.com and had exactly what we wanted 2 days later.
For our almost 3 year old, we bought her Twinkle Toes (sketchers) and Keens at the same time about 3 months ago. The TTs were an 8 and the Keens were a 9, she has outgrown the TTs but the Keens still fit great. I think she was measuring about an 8/ 8 1/2 at the time but her foot width probably pushed her into the Keen 9 and that worked well. |
| Another vote for going to REI or Nordstrom. You could always get the first pair there, then order future pairs online once you know how they fit. |
