Why does MCPS text and email every message three times now?

I seem to get an email on each registered account for each h of my 2 children, and then I also get a text.

Imagine if you work for MCPS and have two kids....work email, cell phone, personal email... sheesh!!

No this isn’t an attempt to make sure everyone gets a message by deliberately sending it twice. Those of us getting multiple messages receive them all within about 15 minutes. A text, then another one identical a few minutes later, then another. I have two kids and get between 2 and 4 identical texts and the same number of emails. I need to work out if I can switch off the notifications for the texts for MCPS only because the constant repeat pinging is annoying. It’s amazing that they are unable to get their act together to stop this.

And alongside the duplicate messages from MCPS, the schools will forward the same messages and then the PTA. That is more understandable than getting the same message minutes apart.

I haven't ever had them do this to me. Sounds like your PTA is just misguided and that's not really an MCPS problem.

I opted out of the phone calls since i found 1 email for each kid was sufficient. If you also find it annoying, you might try this.

I only get one and have multiple kids. It sounds like you signed up more than once and are trying to blame someone else for your mistake.

How is it possible that multiple people suddenly inadvertently signed up twice using the same cell number around the time of the racism survey? People who have had MCPS communications for years without significant issue suddenly signed up several more times without knowing it? To systems that are usually designed to remove duplicates? And if we did “ALL” sign up multiple times why aren’t we receiving a consistent number of messages? Why do they sometimes text twice and other times text three times and sometimes four? Surely they would send them for the number of times we signed up. Or perhaps you have no idea what you are talking about and are just a miserable human being looking for an argument.

I guess we're in good shape if this is the. biggest problem facing the county.
