OP, I imagine all the stressors that can come at this stage of life for you, your kids and friends from illness to financial stress to death of people you love to anything. Now imagine it all happening within a short period of time while your mom repeatedly verbally kicks you in the face and lashes out. That is/was my life. Do not allow that in your home. It was bad enough outside the home and had to set more boundaries. Don't be a masochist.
