I've had it for 3 or 4 years. Works great.

We've had this one for about 1.5 years and it's still going strong.

Went through two of these in one year. They don't last. I know others with the same experience

Our Krups one has lasted for several years with use multiple times/day.

Weird. I’ve had one for years and so have several family members. Guess they had a bad batch. I didn’t but from Amazon though.

I got the Smeg since I liked the look but it’s not worth the price at all

Cuisinart one touch. British husband. It's great for my french press as well. Use it everyday for the last 5 years.

Do any of these actually get to boiling?

My foreign-born/tea-raised husband is convinced that the ones in this country do not, for liability reasons, so refuses to go the electric route.

I don't think it's liability reasons but if your husband is from the UK, their voltage is much higher than ours.

I can’t speak to all of these but mine absolutely is full on boiling. I can see it.

I have the Mueller Ultra Kettle: Model No. M99S 1500W Electric Kettle with SpeedBoil Tech, 1.8 Liter Cordless with LED Light, Borosilicate Glass, Auto Shut-Off and Boil-Dry Protection from Amazon.

It holds 7 cups and gets to boiling in less than three minutes or so then shuts off.

I've never had an electric kettle. What do most people use it for? Tea?

Hadn't thought of that, but you're right. So much whining from his family about not-hot-enough tea if they order out over here!
