| Where are you listening to these songs, most were popular before you were born, at least very old (few exceptions FGL, Maren, Luke Combs)? |
I am guessing any service like Spotify or Pandora? I am a mid-Xer, grew up on the upper great plains, rodeo'd and showed quarter horses in HS and college. King George (and Alan, Clint, Garth, Alabama, Reba et al.) was on the arena loudspeakers during warm-ups and, well, basically any time the announcers weren't talking. I still listen to them, but have added Luke Combs, Lee Brice, Kacey Musgraves and Carly Pearce to my list of faves. |
These spark joy? He Stopped Loving Her Today — Yikes , what do you listen to when you need a good cry? |
OP followed up and said list all favorites. And what is not joyful about an unrequited love you carry with you until you die?
|
I haven't posted but peeked in because I have my own country faves. But half the music I listen to came out even before my mother was born. |
So joyful.

| you should listen to these: Don't Worry About Me, by Marty Robbins and Gone, by Ferlin Husky. I think both are on YouTube. |
| ^ Anything by Marty Robbins: El Paso, Devil Woman, Don't Worry etc. |
+1 it's the greatest country song ever written and sung. ❤ |
Regardless, it's one incredible and emotional song. Love it and George Jones. |
