First time PK3 parent

PK3 is so great. It’s a big adjustment from daycare, but it’ll be great. Good advice above. Don’t stress too much. Drop off can be tough, but it’ll get easier. Good luck.

A lot of the schools in my neighborhood are starting meet and greets for new incoming families. Reach out to your school to see if they are doing one so you can start meeting people.

1. It will be harder for you than your child.
2. Read all emails from the teacher. Ignore all the emails from the parents (Timmy lost his favorite green hat, etc).
3. Join the group chat, they will always talk about important stuff. Don't get caught in ego trip conversations between parents and admins.

Most important:

Smile when you see your kid at pickup.

First two days were tough, the third day she ran off with a nary glance backwards. Loves schools. Cries on Sunday that she wants to go to school. It’s going to be fine. Don’t ignore parent emails - they help build community.
