I am sure we have lots of laws on the books for this. Dont they due curfews and such after hurricanes and other major events to prevent looting or violence? They still make men sign up for selective service at 18.

Well, there was no enforcement. People were basically on the honor system, and stay at home orders and the like were mostly just suggestions. That’s a little different than martial law, where you’d have police and the military enforcing curfews and the like.

Anyway, no country would invade a nuclear armed nation. The result would be nuclear war, where everyone dies.
