You must be someone in MCPS central office who is worried because Ms. Peetz has been getting interesting information and story leads by cultivating various sources in different ways, including via social media posts. You know, kinda like a journalist. But that's clearly not your line of work.

No, far from. Just a parent who gets sick of her making repeated requests to join or group.

She just wants to expand her audience as much as possible. Her work is first-rate and hard hitting. If you don't like it, you can ignore and refrain from commenting?

Ok, glad you think so. Her work is fine but she is intrusive when not welcome.

I find your criticism more intrusive than Caitlynn Peetz's invitation to subscribe to a (free) newsletter. She is one of the only journalists around who holds MCPS officials accountable for practices that hurt children. She sheds light on conditions within schools, the self-interest and dysfunction among central office employees, rates of staff resignation, misuse of money with regards to special education, transportation and covid, school board election processes, staff sexual harassment and sexual abuse of students, the increase in school violence and the need for more mental health providers, and a million other things. She even reads student newspapers and talks to student reporters. She does all this for little pay and so much aggravation. She's just getting started and I think that freaks some folks out. As more staff resign and Dr. McKnight continues to react to their complaints and resignations by saying "Fine, see ya, you're either with me or you're unwelcome here," I think more people will start talking to Caitlynn Peetz as well.

She rewrites press releases and copies information from other reporters. She has been at Bethesda Beat for years and is not just getting started.

I meant she's just getting started exposing all the rot. Bitter, much?

I’m not understanding why there are posters that want to gaslight and deflect from all the problems in MCPS right now. Media attention on problems is one of the best influencers to the Board of Ed and MCPS to do something to fix problems.

Stupid much? She has been there 4 years. What rot has she ever exposed in 4 years?

Rewriting press releases isn’t media attention.

I really don't get these bitter posters. They're angry at the county for not reading their kids for them.

Are you a mcps grad? Is that why you can’t write a coherent sentence?

Reworded press releases. Even you can’t name anything she has exposed.

All I wish is she would stay out of the DMs of the reopen mcps Facebook crew. Constant DMs asking them to participate in a story or provide a name for someone they know to interview - essentially biased viewpoints from one particular side. Do your own reporting instead of relying on bitter semi mental health professionals for information about MCPS. We don't want to hear what THEY think - we want you to do actual reporting. For once, try talking to people with different backgrounds and opinions. Your piece are stale.

DP. Guessing it's not an option for her? Unfortunately that requires MCPS Central Office and MC BOE to (a) provide information, and (b) speak truthfully? Difficult to do if you're lawyered up all the time.
