You must be someone in MCPS central office who is worried because Ms. Peetz has been getting interesting information and story leads by cultivating various sources in different ways, including via social media posts. You know, kinda like a journalist. But that's clearly not your line of work.
No, far from. Just a parent who gets sick of her making repeated requests to join or group.
She just wants to expand her audience as much as possible. Her work is first-rate and hard hitting. If you don't like it, you can ignore and refrain from commenting?
Ok, glad you think so. Her work is fine but she is intrusive when not welcome.
I find your criticism more intrusive than Caitlynn Peetz's invitation to subscribe to a (free) newsletter. She is one of the only journalists around who holds MCPS officials accountable for practices that hurt children. She sheds light on conditions within schools, the self-interest and dysfunction among central office employees, rates of staff resignation, misuse of money with regards to special education, transportation and covid, school board election processes, staff sexual harassment and sexual abuse of students, the increase in school violence and the need for more mental health providers, and a million other things. She even reads student newspapers and talks to student reporters. She does all this for little pay and so much aggravation. She's just getting started and I think that freaks some folks out. As more staff resign and Dr. McKnight continues to react to their complaints and resignations by saying "Fine, see ya, you're either with me or you're unwelcome here," I think more people will start talking to Caitlynn Peetz as well.
