Not sure how up to date these are but weekly rates for 0-24 months are listed on the Maryland Family Network's search tool (https://locate.marylandfamilynetwork.org/Family/Providers) as:

Georgetown Hill: $596
Kindercare: $431
Childtime: $518
Goddard: $545
Nanda: $460

NIST is not open to the public to enroll. And they stay very full regardless.

Actually it is though with low priority

Children are offered spaces according to the following priority categories:

A. Children (dependents) of Federal NIST employees

B. Children (dependents) of non-NIST Federal employees

C. Children (dependents) of NIST Associates

D. Children with a grandparent, aunt or uncle who is a Federal NIST employee

E. Children (dependents) of U.S. citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents, who are not in the priority categories above

I know people who fit one of the categories above E and have been on the waitlist for years.

Interesting. We know someone who go in after much less than a year. They are feds but not NIST. It's always worth a try, you never know if the stars will align for you.

You can try but I really think this is unlikely. I am a fed (not NIST) and got a call after 2.5 years on the waitlist. I had not been all that impressed during my tour and liked the place we found in the meantime. YMMV

The pandemic as been very disruptive for child care providers. Some things that were true pre-pandemic are not true anymore.
