Russian capital ship in the Black Sea just sank

Man, there must be some folks in the Pentagon having a lot of fun with this. It's like the game RISK but with the Russians.

What about all the pollution from this? How long will it take to clean up?

The Russian response that there was a fire on board and then the ship sank during stormy waters was ridiculous - issued two hours after Ukraine claimed their missiles sunk the massive war ship and there was hit storm let along wind in the area at the time.

Everything the Russians say is a lie.

Now they are bombing the capital again in retaliation …. Even though they claimed a storm took the ship out.

They are incompetent, amoral and evil.

Here is my question . For decades the world has believed that the Soviet Union/Russia armed forces matched those of the US. It would appear this is monumentally not the case. Why would you leave your flagship alone with no other warships or air cover protection. Is Putin giving the orders and the generals are just puppets?

The Moskva was equipped with TWO radar systems; the larger one only operates 180 degrees (the smaller one is 360 degree).

To distract the Moskva, the Ukrainians flew one (possibly two) Bayraktar near the Moskva, and luring the 180 degree radar to face the opposite direction from the planned attack.

Ukraine produces its own, domestically-designed, sea - skimming anti ship missile. It only had 10 to 20 completed when the war (“special military operation” began).

It used 2 to severely damage the 510 person Moskva. Predictably, the Russians won’t admit how many of the 510 sailors were killed. Supposedly there was a “complete” evacuation, so the damage must have been severe.

Show Russia NO restraint. They only respond with escalation.

The only option now is the utter decimation of Russia’s conventional forces. Crush them.

- and the Ukrainians took advantage of bad weather, so the Moskva probably could not distinguish the wave tops from the 2 in incomkjng Ukrainian cruise missiles.

The Germans did the same in towards the end of WW2. You do not need ground crews when there are no planes. You do not need sailors when you have no ships.

The incompetence of the Russians would be funny if they hadn't tortured civilians. Sadly, even the most incompetent dumbass can torture someone to death.

Yes, I was just talking with my spouse about this . Fighting a conventional army with rules of engagement is in many ways less tragic than fighting these assymetrical basically terrorist foes. We saw how hard that was in Syria, Afghanistan and now Ukraine. The Russians can be defeated because they are nincompoops in terms of command, training and infrastructure, but tactics need to be adapted given the fact that they are desperately-cornered, ill educated, brainwashed to see Nazis, slavering terrorists who are lashing out. The one fear I have is nukes in Putin's despotic hands, scary! The rest of their military seems to be a house of cards. Honestly, we should all be considering invading Russia and finishing this - but for the nukes. And yes, terrorists can and do inflict horrendous harm on civilians. That's what they like to do. And we must recognize and adapt to their nature. This is not a disciplined force.

The Moskva has new pronouns:

“Was” and “were.”

All civilians who can must evacuate, particularly women and children. The rest will be tortured before being executed, just like in Bucha, when Russians capture eastern or southern towns, villages and possible some cities. And yet evacuation routes are unsafe or completely blocked. It's a horrific nightmare.

UN must step in. If NATO/Us does Russians will claim it's an act of war.

No women need to step up and fight the invaders.
