One difference is there are about 3x more student of need at CPES compared to VES. That may be a big deal for some families. |
Also CPES has a church that pretty much serves as the PTA. Nice but can’t compare to a school where there an active, parent run PTA. |
As someone who is house hunting in that area - can you please tell me more about this? |
You don’t. |
| Funny. We are zoned for VES but have sent our kids to private starting K (so it’s not because we don’t like VES in particular, just FCPS in general). You can have our spot! |
Too bad it’s not like air rights. |
| Can someone please clarify the CNES PTA comment made above??? That is very concerning to me as a non-Christian. |
I would not worry about some comment posted on this site and believe it to be truth. Better yet, you can volunteer for a PTA board position. |
Well I'm worried about it. Can the OP of that comment come in and tell us what they're talking about. |
Call the school. |
Calm down. Maybe it's a non Christian church. I doubt an FCPS school would allow the PTA to teach anything. Your child isn't going to be converted. |
I'm calm, but someone made a comment and should explain it. We're looking at houses zoned for the school and if there's a PTA scandal or some sort of contention, calling the school isn't going to give me the info I need. |
NP: You’d prefer some random person explain a comment (that could be completely untrue) rather than ask the school directly? Also, ‘PTA scandal’, seems dramatic. |
| PP who mentioned CPES being “adopted” by a church. It’s Christ Church Vienna. Not certain if it’s formalized as far as members holding true PTA positions but they provide support in various ways to include holding summer camps in the school cafeteria. |
| Wow that's a 3 rated school, run |
