Davidson is a top Division 1 Contender? |
| Richmond |
|
In the Power 5, it would be schools like Wake, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Stanford, Duke, and Boston College, plus Notre Dame. Some of those are obviously exceptionally difficult admits.
Outside of Power 5, perhaps Rice, Davidson (basketball only), Richmond, etc. Most big sports public schools tend to be significantly larger. A number that are similar sized (Tufts) aren't big sports schools. |
Richmond is in a bit stronger basketball league, but otherwise not much difference. |
I think Michigan and UVA are a bit more. |
in basketball for a school their size? absolutely. It's a big deal on campus, have been to a game. great facility, rabid fans. |
Yes. Happily. (I’m not the OP but could have asked the same question) |

Boston College
Clemson Northwestern |
But not a Division 1 contender (perhaps that one year with Steph Curry). |
Clemson like W&M? |
Not a single public on your list. |
When it comes to publics, W&M is singular: there is no other public of its size and quality. |
UVA is $53,666 OOS tuition. Michigan is $53,323. William & Mary is $46,467. |
No. W& M is $63,500 for OOS. Tuition alone is 40 k+ |
