Say No to the test?

All of them. My son is tested 90% of mondays

Really? My kids get tested at minimum every other week.

No they aren't but there are a couple far-right astroturfers who post this stuff to stir up resentment.

I know these tests make it very tough to send your sick kid to school for free daycare.

I had the same question, OP. I don’t send my kids to school when they’re sick, but I also have no interest in quarantining them if they test positive while asymptomatic. That needs to stop.

OP here. Give it a rest. My DC has been tested probably more than 5x since school started in the fall. They keep pulling DC out during math, and DC keeps having to go back to the teacher to review missed material.

If they pulled DC out during PE or lunch, I wouldn't care. But this is getting ridiculous. Some kids have never been pulled out for testing, while others keep "winning the lottery". The random testing that they are doing has issues.

We've had covid in our family. DC was also just boosted (as have we all). We have like 10 test kits at home. We're good.

I know! That's why we said no to the test too!

Vaccines and testing are two different issues and vaccines aren't stoping outbreaks/transmission just helping with symptoms and hospitalizations (so there is a benefit to the individual but not others)

i thought it was agreed that vaccines did stop transmission ... it may not be in earlier variants.

such a weird thing to want to have your kid tested all the time ... ask your kid if he/she is ok with that ...

MCPS employees must also get paid per post.

Either that, or the super anxious and fearful posters have lost the ability to reason and assess risks.

Mine, too. Like 4 out of 5 weeks. This week they didn’t even bother sending the notice that he would be tested, I just got the email saying ‘negative’.

Move. Next surge has already started.

Kids have nothing to worry about statistically. Worry about drug use and depression.

Adults that are fat, lose weight and exercise every day.

Old people that are scared--wear a mask or isolate.

Kids have died of covid. Maybe instead of bullying online to justify your crazy covid behavior you should spend time with your kids to help with the drug use and depression.

"Kids have died..." is a remarkably weak argument. Yes, kids die. The CDC has a large database of childhood mortality.
