PPs are suggesting 20% of the order and even then, rounding up. If you had 1 pizza for $20, tip would be $4. 2 pizzas $40, tip $8. Your logic doesn't make sense w/r to driving/gas. |

A server doesn’t do more work bringing you a $10 glass of wine vs a $2.50 soda or a $40 filet vs the $22 fettuccine. You still adjust your tip accordingly. |
| We ordered Papa John’s and they have a delivery fee which has been raised to account for the price of gas. So I just tip the usual $5 for a large two topping pizza. |

| Can you explain to me the 20% logic for pizza? The driver isn’t making the pizza. That is a significant difference if they deliver 2 medium cheese or 2 large speciality and it’s really no difference in effort for the driver. |

| I tip 0 and my food arrives fine. I have never tipped on Uber eats or instacart. The rest of you tipping $10 for a $40 order make up for it! Also don’t talk to me about gas prices because now we pay a surcharge. It’s not my job to supplement their wages. If you don’t like it, get another job. I’m a nanny and no one tips me! |

I gave 25% tip to the place where we showed up and picked up our own pizza.
These smaller places have really struggled the last two years. OP, if you can afford $40 pizzas surely your husband can afford to not be so cheap. |
| Some/many/most pizza places reimburse for gas/mileage. Not sure it has kept pace with the recent price increase, but it is not like they are covering it out of pocket. |
| We had pizza last night. Tipped $10 on $40, so $50, and it's 10min/5 miles away. We usually tip $10-$20, whether we get $10 worth of food or $100. |
Wow. I'm a nanny as well and regularly tip. I supplemented with driving for Uber Eats for a year and realized how much tips matter. As far as saying you're a nanny, pretty sure you probably get certain benefits. These drivers are independent contractors and the company is cheap about paying properly. At the end of the day, food delivery is a luxury so it doesn't hurt to throw a few bucks extra. |
As a former pizza delivery girl…. The more you tip, the faster you get your food, the hotter it is. We didn’t have pre-tipping back then, people had to add it to the receipt or give us cash when we delivered it. But we knew all the repeat customers and how well they tipped, and we knew which general areas had good tippers vs bad tippers. We drove multiple pizzas at a time and would take them to the people who tipped well first. People who didn’t tip well got theirs last. Delivery driving is a lot of wear and tear on your car, plus the cost of gas. If you’re not marking good tips, it’s not really worth it at all. |
