Where in the US Constitution does it say families are entitled free subsidized children for life? If you and your family can't handle temporary costs associated with having a family, you should stop procreating now. I'm sick of the government subsidizing families while giving the middle finger to anyone without child-age dependents. Child allowances are destroying America via inflation. |
I know, you're butthurt that your token subsidy is bullshit. |
Nope Nope So what? Doesn't justify making the money printer go brr exclusviely for drivers. What insanity. Anything else? |
Says the person who benefited from the greatest token subsidy in the history of America. How's it feel to have welfare stripped from you? |
I don't think any serious person doubted it would reduce the price at the pump. But it's terrible policy. Artificially increase demand when demand is outpacing supply? It just keeps the market from correcting itself. In the 1970's the government responded to oil price shocks with gas rationing. That was worse policy. But only slightly. |
| This is a dumb gimmick. That’s all. |
Whine more. No one cares. |
And yet it worked immediately and is resoundingly popular. |
LOL. You’re not going to find a single elected MD politician to agree with you. That should indicate to you that your opinion is bad. But keep going. The world wants to hear more. |
They is a robot powered by a solar panel made by another robot sent from Mars. |
Lol, if your value system and judgment is based on whether MD politicians agree with you, then God save MD and G0d save America. |
DP but non of those things. I don’t really think Boomers are the target demographic for Uber Eats. If you’re spending much money on all the above I might have some ideas on how you can save money today and become a rich millennial some day. I think people should pay for the roads they use via gas tax. Use less, save more. If you choose to live 50 miles from your job your life must be miserable anyway but I should not have to subsidize your bad economic decisions. |

In an effort to fight the demand side problems causing inflation, we are turning around and increasing the supply of money again. Which will cause more demand induced inflation.
Econ 101 should be a required class for politicians… |
Including the ones who advocated sending out stimulus checks and child allowances. |
i Oh, they know the consequences darn well, they simply don’t care. A politician has one job: to get re-elected. Most do this by appealing to the dumbest part of their base. For Dems, that means giving out free stuff even if it hurts business owners and creates inflation and a dependent class. For GOP that means cutting taxes and regulation even if it means spiraling deficits and dangerous business practices. They simply don’t care about the long term ramifications for the people they represent, they only care about themselves, and many constituents enable this by short-sighted cheering. |
