PP. I can tell you first hand it does NOT taste amazing. It does smell nasty (like raw sewage) and as soon as I put it in my mouth and tried to swallow it, I vomited in the sink and I have a pretty strong constitution. At least I can cross it off my bucket list. OTOH before you crack it open it kinda smells like a pineapple. I was like.....how bad can this be? After we disposed of it and took it out to the trash, a few HOURS later my oldest son comes down from upstairs and said "did the dog poop in the house?"

I felt that way about goat cheese, feta, brie, eggs, avocado and cilantro. I love them all now. They just suddenly seemed interesting/grew on me.
Wish this would happen with wine and beer- both taste disgusting- instantly vomit-inducing and I cannot believe people drink that rot and act normal. But if I could do it too, I'd be 'normal' at parties. Also wish I could do tomatoes and cantaloupe. So good for you- but so disgusting. |
| It's very soft and yummy and I love the strong smell. My palate is all skewed from years of emotional eating though, so maybe there's a reason why I prefer pungent, strong, acidic foods. I also really enjoy sour and spicy. I know it's an emotional eating thing. |
| Is it worse than hakarl, though? That truly is the worst food on the planet. |
| What a lame thread. Everyone has likes and dislikes. Are you really that immature that you can’t figure that out, OP? |
| Have you tried blueberry vanilla goat cheese? I am not a big fan of straight goat cheese but man this stuff is amazing |

| I like it. But I also think it tastes like grass or goat or pasture |
Thank you! I love cilantro but I totally recognize the soapy taste. I just like it. I can't stand goat cheese because it does smell and taste like a barn. But you like that. But at least you know that. Do other people have this level of discernment in taste? |
It doesn’t taste like that to me. It tastes gamey and funky but not like a barn. |
Oh man. This takes me back to the 90s, when I used goat cheese in salads all the time, either marinated in balsamic, olive oil and and garlic dressing or coated with bread crumbs and fried. I had a cookbook called “Cooking with Caprial” that had some excellent recipes with goat cheese. You’ve inspired me to go dig it up—thank you! |
OP-you are my people. The stuff is god awful. |
| Goat cheese with pepper jam inside of a roasted poblano. |

| DH grew up in a country where there is a lot of goat farming and can’t eat it. He loves goat meat though. I love goat cheese but can’t stand goat meat. Different strokes. |
