are all French Bulldogs like this?

Hahah agreed with pretending they are cute when they’re with their owners.

Agree with all of this. I think they're hideous and it angers me that they have not been bred for health. I feel bad for them and slightly judge the owners who buy them (and I am a supporter of legit breeders generally, my dogs are from breeders).

None of this would bother me except the humping part. Is he neutered?

he's like this at home with his owners too

He can't help it. Brachycephalic breeds have unique health issues. Please be patient and gentle. A 20 minute walk is a lot for a bulldog, esp at a fast rate or when it is warm. Poor guy.

I think if a dog breed cannot walk for TWENTY MINUTES...that's a pretty good sign that the breed should not exist

French Bulldog owners are the worst. They want the hottest accessory, not a dog.

I love dogs and have had several but needy small dogs do annoy me. I’ve also known cool, chill small dogs so I wonder if it’s how they are treated by their owners - smaller dogs get away with more. I’ve watched bull dogs and although I disagree with how they are bred and would never buy one, they usually have fun quirky personalities so breathing issues aren’t really annoying. But you shouldn’t walk French bulldogs too long or in warm weather. I’ve heard stories of them dying suddenly in the care of someone else because of long walks.

No, they’re the worst. Total vanity breed.

uh, you realize they have short legs, right? It's more than just their breathing issues. It's like saying a baby shouldn't exist because they can't run for 20 min. For a small dog, a 20 min walk is like a half marathon for an adult human.

np. seriously? My dachshund can walk an hour, and I wouldn't say he's some amazingly in shape dog. this doesn't seem accurate at all.

Brachycephalic breeds have poor exercise tolerance, and it’s structural. Short legged dogs can be plenty athletic, and can certainly walk longer than 20 minutes (my last foster was 10 lbs., 15 years old, and could easily walk 3-4 miles).

Oh please. My 3 year old mini schnauzer hiked 3 miles with us with no issue at all. It's definitely the smushed face/breathing issues.

There are absolutely well bred frenchies. Mine did flyball and agility competitively for years without trouble breathing. At 11 years old she'll still walk/trot for hours with me on nice days.

If your dog has trouble breathing just from a simple walk, that's a problem. We don't have to be breeding dogs that can run in the fields for 8 hours straight, but a dog should absolutely be able to walk a mile, regardless of breed, without getting out of breath.

Frenchies are the cutest, sweetest, Most mellow dogs! I loath big and sporty dogs. This poor dog can probably tell that you don’t like him.

They are NOT mellow. Ever. But they are very sweet usually and have needy exuberant personalities!!

The smell is likely due to skin/ear infection because they are prone to allergies. That is why he is licking himself....

20 m is too long for a Frenchie to walk.....

I’m mellow too when I’m having difficulty breathing.

I cannot understand why people find brachycephalic dogs cute. They are a health abomination, and guaranteed generational suffering. They should be all sterilized, to end the breed. Poor little things. A testament to mankind's cruelty.
