We have an update regarding the use of masks, as of Monday, February 28th, the use of masks for children is optional. Adults and staff still have to wear one.

That's silly because they are the ones that are likely vaccinated.

Yeah it is silly, but it's a compromise and I'll take what I can get.

If you make it too hard to follow the rules, then people will do what they have to do. We haven’t sent our kids in after positive tests, but we certainly don’t get PCRs for ever every single time they cough, get the sniffles, or they’re “fatigued”. And we’ve been careful to not reference any Covid symptoms any time we keep them home for a day or two.

They’re also the ones at higher risk for severe illness. Covid isn’t a uniquely serious risk to young kids. The severity of Covid in kids is similar to that of the flu.

I know the new CDC guidance references schools, but did they specifically call out childcares at all?

The MoCo mask mandate never applied to private schools anyway. There was a specific exemption for buildings which were not open to the public. The heads of school and teachers were just too stupid/cowardly to think of your child's wellbeing.
