If a girls school fires a woman because she has an abusive ex, that is a terrible look |
| I would expect Holton to support the employee, man or woman. They are the victim and while unfortunate this happened at school, the school should absolutely not punsih the employee. Guessing the topic of domestic/partner violence will now be part of the SEL of Upper School at least. Maybe it already has been. And, unfortunately becauses this is just the state of real society, it should be. Private schools aren't excluded from the world of domestic abuse and violence -- though I suppose they have families that are pretty good at hiding it. |
+1 Holton parent - thank you for keeping all safe! |
| Sadly, Maryland lacks a law which prevents workplaces from discriminating against (taking employment actions against) victims of domestic violence. |
I love how you all assume that I'm not a Holton parent. |
This right here. Not a Holton parent, but would hope they support the employee who is the victim (and obviously ban the attacker from campus/press charges). Kids understand so much more than we know, and they are certainly capable of hearing about domestic violence. Statistically, some of them have likely been subjected to it already. |
You’re a terrible human and I’d say that to your face |
+1 Not a parent but like the response 😊 |
Holton locking their gate after hours is more effective than the “Landon checkpoint”. |
I don't know about terrible human, but definitely nuts. |

This article states it was with a contractor. Wonder if it’s related to the lawsuit?

No, it can be the cleaning contractors or the kitchen and food services contractors. |
OK Billy Bad-Ass…

Landon barely has a checkpoint -- it's at the end of their long driveway. They will be moving it closer to the street -- you can see they just started work on it this week. One of the fields is fenced off and they have excavators in already. |
