Reacher

DH and I really like it. I was a little nervous when I saw the trailer at how laid back and funny it made him seem but in the end I think it's a good portrayal. He's a little more blond, handsome and cut than I imagined Reacher to be, but at least the size and character seem accurate.

I watched the first episode last night. I don’t think we’ll watch more.

I thought the detective was over exaggerating his body language and general acting, like it felt as if he was in a lot of theatre productions and it didn’t seem to translate well. Or maybe it’s just not great writing or directing for the role.

Reacher himself. I thought his movements / mannerisms seemed wooden, and the dialogue delivered kind of oddly with smirks.

Roscoe felt like, I don’t know, superfluous - we need a peacemaker that doesn’t really do much, here you go use this role.

Maybe it’s just the first episode. Anyway, didn’t feel drawn to it.

Oooo, I’ll have to see if my husband will watch with me. We both read a lot of his books on planes when we traveled a bunch for work.

My DH and are are three episodes in and really enjoying this, and there’s not a lot we can find to watch together. The mystery reminds me of True Detective but the show has much more of a light feel like a caper. Some unrealistic stuff but I haven’t been outraged at having to suspend my disbelief over nonsense yet.

That was a total vanity role for Cruise, who ridiculously cast himself.

They are incorporating Reacher's take no shit style though, and straightforward personality traits that only a guy his size can get away with.
Can't get a dead guy in the truck, break his legs so they fit.

Ok, what episode is the full frontal?

Does the acting get better after the pilot?

The only full-frontal I saw was Roscoe, topless - which was totally unnecessary because it didn't add to the story. I have no problem with nudity, but when it doesn't fit the story line it feels cheap and lazy on the writers part.

I think it was Ep 3 or 4

Yeah, that's not the kind of full frontal I like to see.

That's exactly what my husband said - Tom Cruise is puny and far too small for the role.

When someone says "full frontal" when referencing a movie, it's usually related to sex. Last thing I was looking at with that guy was his junk.
