- 4.5+ GPA
- at least algebra by 8th
- do the "test" which is basically questions about yourself and then 1 word math/science question.
- application process gives points for having certain disadvantages

The old way had a test that was hard and yes a lot of kids did ample prep classes to game the test and do well on it.

My youngest started at TJ this past year and have to say it's much less of a toxic environment than my oldest was there.

You would like a racist. Do you mean to say that it was a toxic environment when there were more Asians at TJ?

Racism is absolutely allowed against Asians in this country.
TJ is the perfect example. Oh the environment was toxic for your older child and now it’s not toxic anymore for your younger child. If your older child was so unhappy at TJ why did you let your younger child apply and go to TJ?

Because she seeks out "toxic" environments.

strange narrative: its a racist, toxic place so lets let the racists stay and keep TJ for themselves.

The racism experienced historically by black children at TJ from their peers is well known in this area. Hopefully its less toxic now.

Actually, my kid was physically assaulted by a black TJ student several years ago (no discipline and went on to Ivy although he was an average student). It's no secret that black kids bully and assault other TJ kids at TJ.

Now we see where the racist TJ students get their racism from.

Oh no! Well, you shouldn’t send your kids to TJ. They are allowing Black kids to terrorize your little angels, then have audacity to send the Black kid to an Ivy even though the Black kid isn’t as smart as yours. SMH.

I didn’t know about the assaults and bullying when the decision was made to apply.

What about the Asian Hate Crime laws passed last year? Black people have suffered far worse hate in this country and we have never seen and Black Hate Crime laws. Asians aren’t getting murdered in this country in any situations where the police know who did it and refuse to bring charges.

I’m sorry but you can’t make any argument that Asians are being treated worse than Black people. Black people don’t stand in the way from Asians getting anything so your hate towards them is completely unwarranted. You are trying to kick a group that is already down to try and get good points with white mommy and white daddy.

Ever thought about withdrawing?

It occurred during the junior year so withdrawal was not an option and besides why withdraw because some black kid has assaulted.

Black kid who was the perpetrator should be expelled or withdraw.
