| I am older, but love all Glossier. I thought this might be the "clean" alternative. But. It doesn't sound terrific, so probably not going to invest. What else is out there like Miracle Balm? |
I can’t think of another colored balm like that. Lots of gel in balm, but no other true balms. |
| Just got my miracle balm. It is gross and like putting Vaseline in your skin. Smells bad. I do not get how anyone can wear this. Maybe as lip gloss |
That should have been pretty clear from the comments. There are several really flattering colors but I don’t want that amount of oils on my face and certainly no stanky essential oils. I like her stick blush, powder blush and eye shadows though. Those are all legitimately great. |
| I love the Miracle Balm! To be fair, I tend to use it on work-from-home days when I don't really want to be made up but just need a little color. I have pretty nice, pale skin, and I'm 50. I only use it on my cheeks. |

i have the MB and the pencil face sticks.
once i figured out my routine, i do kind of like them. I am 40. the skin on my face is very dry. for a very long time, i would rock bobbi brown BB cream and then set it all down with laura mercier powder. but then around 37 i noticed it would gather in my teeny tiny crowns feet and lines. when i would be photographed, i would always look dry and flaky. what i like about MB is that my skin always looks dewy. the coverage is very minimal, like a BB cream. i love that the face pencils mean i can customize my color blend, not all of my face is the same color. Once i figured out my application process, i did begin to like it. i wore it in the summer and the winter. in the summer, i would apply a sunscreen, but no moisturizer since the MB is so moisturizing. in the winter, i will moisturize. then i will use this as a primer: https://mally.com/products/poreless-face-defender-primer-perfector?_pos=3&_sid=155e734ff&_ss=r then i apply the MB. then the face pencils. i start to blend with my finger to get it all warm and blended. then i go back and blend again with a beauty sponge. no need to set with powder! (which would always just settle into my fine lines and make it worse). i do the rest of my eyes and add cheek color. let things warm on my face for about 10 minutes, then i got in and blot up the excess oil with blotting papers. i will carry the blotting papers with me and touch up during the day. someone mentioned their eyeshadow and i can concur, its really great stuff. better than urban decay. i like their blush as well. it was a journey to like MB, mainly driven by my investment. someone mentioned the smell. they are right, its a little different. the greasiness was off putting, until i figure out how to apply it for my face. i am curious about their WTF. have not had to buy. what else do women over 40 with dry skin use as foundation? i am totally adverse to setting anything with a powder ever again. im like 50/50 on it. mainly bc i do love how dewy and fresh my skin looks. but if there was something more like the foundations i used in my 20s, i might be tempted to go back to that. |

I have been using Jones Road since it came out, I'm 52 and not a really makeupy person. I used Bobbi Brown make up for forever prior.
I don't really like the WTF. It is oily and separates and I can't really figure out applying it. I watched a video using a big brush and dabbing it on, and that was sort of working, however, the mixing of the foundation first was challenging me. Like, what do I mix it with? my fingers? I like most of the other make up and do like the miracle balms. I like the face cleanser stick as well. It removes the make really well. |

I actually like the miracle balm a lot. I use Tawny -- I kind of use it as a blush and then sweep on my eyelids and sometimes put on my lips. I do notice that "look happy" and get compliments on the days when I wear it!
I've been using for a year and it doesn't make me break out. It feels neutral. It's useful as a "1 minute before I need to run out the door for dropoff" product (with some urban decay eyeliner and ilia mascara.) When I really have to look nice, I'll use a proper Nars foundation and a whole eyeshadow etc. |
| Pp -- I also bought the pencil, WTF, the mascara but I didn't really like those products. But I use miracle balm probably 80 percent of my days. |
| I’m the first PP who didn’t like the smell of the miracle balm. I do generally like oils so it wasn’t the ingredients that put me off. I recently bought the shimmer face oil and really like them - I have a bronze one and a pinky one (i am pale skinned) and both look good and give a nice non-glittery glowy look applied to cheeks |
| I have the WTF and I like it—my skin is dry and it feels moisturizing, plus the coverage is natural. |
Do you apply with a big brush? |
For the tawny, what skin tone do you have? Does it natural? |
|
I use the WTF over moisturizer and Benefit Porefessional on days when I need light makeup but not actual foundation.
I dab it on in tiny spots on cheek, chin, cheeks and nose. Then I spread with fingers and finish by blending with a brush. I’m probably not doing it the “right” way but that’s what works for me. I use the foundation pencils to even things out, but some days they settle into fine lines more than others so I haven’t figured out if I like them yet. The eyeliner pencils is good and doesn’t catch on my eyelids, but it also doesn’t really last. |
No, just my hands. It’s pretty sheer. I treat it like tinted moisturizer basically. |
