What is the lab school concept in a nutshell? |
What a worthless press release that doesn’t explain anything. Here is the WTOP article: https://wtop.com/virginia/2022/01/youngkin-plans-to-create-lab-school-partnerships-in-virginia/
Not sure I am happy with the private college angle. Taxpayer money doesn’t need to flow to Liberty University for this, for example. |
Aw, bless you. Youngkin's already shown that he refuses to admit the truth ( he supports T, he wants to privatize schools through charters), but his actions make it clear. That's not paranoia, it's understanding that actions speak louder than words (or silence) |

We’ll see if this actually happens. It sounds like what he hopes to do (to the extent he’s defined it at all) is outside the scope of what the law actually allows right now for lab schools, and he’s hoping to get funding that hasn’t actually been allocated yet. So basically a nice idea, but far from developed. Hopefully he follows through and commits to ensuring the lab schools provide quality programming rather than leaving it at a press release or letting it turn into crappy for-profit schools. |
THIS. |
Because there’s nothing of substance to announce. This is the equivalent of announcing a directive for a state agency to consider whether something might be done about some issue. |
With a little window dressing about HBCUs thrown in. I bet this is about religious private schools opening “lab schools” to teach about Jesus. |
So Youngkin wants lab schools that will work with historically black colleges, the article mentions literacy and STEM, and you all are on here complaining? Is that correct? |
Who complained? I missed the complaints, unless you are referring to the lack of detail in the announcement. Stop being such a sensitive, gullible fool. |
Yes, his plan would allow for for-profit groups to operate lab schools. It’s not a conspiracy theory. https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/01/27/virginia-youngkin-lab-school-education/ |
If you really want to keep all our kids captive to the existing public school systems, could you at least pretend that your goal is to offer a superior product? Because you all have made it very clear for years that our kids exist primarily as the foils for your own fiefdoms and “equity” gibberish. |
This is great news. He's doing what I elected him to do.
Public schools need competition, their product is deteriorating and unions work against parents' interests. |
Another home run by Youngkin |
That is exactly correct. It seems there is nothing these twits will not complain about if Youngkin suggests it. Imagine their joy had Northam come up with this. ![]() |
