OP- I run a local nanny agency and I agree with the $30-35hr range.
Prior to working at the agency, I was a nanny/household manager for 12 years and I think your list of tasks is accurate and doable. It does take some leg work to find candidates that are willing to make a serious commitment for PT hours, but you can find someone. You sound reasonable and level headed. |
Thanks! Are you accepting clients that are looking for part-time? If so, what are your placement fees and guarantee policies? |
I’d look for a part-time housekeeper who is good with kids and drives. The 12-5 pm slot would work for someone who has a morning job in the area. |
PP here. So sorry I'm just seeing this now. I am accepting new clients. Our placement fee is $3800 and we have a 3 month guarantee. If the placement doesn't work out in the first 3 months, we do a totally free replacement search. I'm always happy to have a call and be really transparent about our process, pool of candidates, the current market, etc. You can reach out to me at Bridget@nanniescoasttocoast.com if you want to connect. Check us out on google or our website Coast to Coast Nannies. |
You forgot to add in driving as well as childcare duties as well. |
It would love such a job next school year because I'm not a morning person. I have a 2nd job at a restaurant, but only when I want to go. Here's my problem: I cannot cook to save my life. At my restaurant job, they have always fed us. While I know how the food is made, I would not attempt to make it myself. The other duties are fine. |
I don’t think you’ll find someone who will do all these tasks in the time you’ve allowed, but I also don’t think it hurts to try. If someone wants to negotiate more hours they can.
We have a housekeeper who does everything you named except childcare who gets 25 an hour. We also have a part-time nanny who does the activities / driving and occasional errands, and she gets 30 per hour. I personally would offer 25 or 30 an hour, and more than 5 hours a day, rather than 35 an hour. |
Will the nanny/cleaner/dog-walker get to use the family car? she will not have time to install and uninstall car seats each time. |
Can you do prep work for meals, like cut fruits and vegetables, put rice in a rice cooker, or make sandwiches for school lunches? |
25/hour for 6 hours |
She has to pick up the dog poop when she walks the dog?
then 30$ per hour. |
You're doing this backwards Op. You find someone, anyone who's acceptable to you who's willing to do this and you ask what it's going to take? |
Uh, np here but anyone walking a dog should have poop bags with them. |
Seems reasonable for a SAHM with no shopping in there. |
Looks like mom does not want the responsibility of cleaning up after her own pets! |
