She declared a public health emergency and yet bars and restaurants stay open for massless indoor dining and drinking.

Honestly don’t get it.

Bars and restaurants in D.C. require vaccine passports. Only state in the country. We are ahead of the curb. You're not vaccinated, you're not getting in. Which is so much better than requiring a mask which you're going to take off to drink and eat anyway.

Yes, and as we all know, once you’re vaccinated and boosted, it’s literally IMPOSSIBLE for you to get covid or spread covid to others!

And yet there’s a little thing called breakthrough infections.

Are you obese? Elderly? If so - stay home. There is no need to punish all to help a few - and “help” is a maybe.

I’m more interested in punishing everyone, actually.

D.C. Public Health Emergency for hospitals extended to Feb. 15th. Next up - the regular Emergency?

One more day - I’m thinking until at least Feb 28th.

Bravo!

Right?!?!

At what point will victory be declared? When only vaccinated people are getting it?

I feel like these are slipping in and reporters aren't bothering to cover it. D.C. Emergency Orders extended to March 17, 2022. This is the general one that doesn't cover hospitals.

A few? You're either clueless or in denial.
Like it or not, close to 50% of Americans have at least one or more covid risk factors and comorbidities - over 50 years old, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, asthma etc.
It's not "a few" being protected. It's every other American.

I certainly hope so. I hope she makes them permanent.

Why? Seriously, toughen up, lose the weight and if are elderly or sick - stay home.
Next.

Yeah, time to just get over all those inherited chronic diseases that have no cures, people!

Don't like how DC is being run? You're welcome to move elsewhere. And if you already don't live here, STFU.

I have to deal with the fallout from your fine government and its citizens, so, no.

Seems we were on a month-to-month extension. The last emergency orders for the city were supposed to end on March 16th. Extended until April 16th which is this week. But Biden just extended the national order by 90 days, so that clears the way for Bowser to extend the D.C. order for at least a further 90 days.

The Biden administration extended the U.S. coronavirus public health emergency, now more than two years old, for another 90 days on Wednesday.

The move will maintain a range of health benefits received by some of the most vulnerable Americans during the pandemic, including access to coronavirus tests and telehealth services.

The decision to extend the emergency was expected, public health experts said, even though top federal health officials have said the nation is now in a favorable position, with fewer people hospitalized for Covid-19 lately than at any time since the early weeks of the pandemic.

The Department of Health and Human Services made a commitment at the beginning of President Biden’s term to give states at least two months’ warning before allowing the emergency declaration to lapse. Some governors have asked for even more time to prepare. The latest extension pushes back the expiration to mid-July.
