This happened 10 days ago, not really newsworthy then or now

OP here - I meant to ask if they would extend orders beyond the 26th/31st. Thoughts?

I certainly hope so. I hope she makes them permanent.

She declared a public health emergency and yet bars and restaurants stay open for massless indoor dining and drinking.

Honestly don’t get it.

It's a "limited" public health emergency that only applies to hospitals, which is probably why OP missed it 11 days ago when it actually happened. Reading is important.

Bars and restaurants in D.C. require vaccine passports. Only state in the country. We are ahead of the curb. You're not vaccinated, you're not getting in. Which is so much better than requiring a mask which you're going to take off to drink and eat anyway.

And yet there’s a little thing called breakthrough infections.

If you're vaccinated, who cares? If you're unvaxxed - sucks for you.

But would that be what is driving hospital capacity issues which was the purported raison d’etre of this order?

Why? Seriously, toughen up, lose the weight and if are elderly or sick - stay home.
Next.

Are you obese? Elderly? If so - stay home. There is no need to punish all to help a few - and “help” is a maybe.

D.C. isn't a state, and plenty of major cities and counties have the vaccine passport. Your final sentence is hilarious - you are actually saying exactly what those making the case against the mandates and passports are saying.
