Cardio before or after weight training?

Then weights

You need the energy to lift heavy and maintain form

This is correct. You can maintain better form and use heavier weights when you do weights first.

We have similar goals but I will tell you from experience. If you want to gain muscle, you shouldn't be doing a ton of cardio. While cardio will not kill your gains, it can slow down your progress if you are overdoing it. You should be focusing on eating properly and lifting heavy weights. If you are doing those properly, you really should not need a ton of cardio.

Sure, do it as a warm up or if you really enjoy it but do not feel that you need to be doing endless amounts of cardio to lose fat and gain muscle. Yes cardio does burn muscle fibers.

And also, glutes take a looooong time to grow. Like months. Sometimes a year. You can't grow your glutes (or muscles in general) and being trying to lose weight at the same time. They are opposing goals. You have to basically pick one at a time. I didn't see real progress in my glutes until I started eating more. Yes I've gain a little bit elsewhere too but it looks proportional. Now I am turning back to trying to shed the excess lbs.

OP here. If you don’t mind asking how much do you eat and how much weight have u been gaining to grow your glutes? I’m 5’4 and weigh around 123-125. I’ve been eating around 120g of protein, 200g of carbs, 2000-2200 calories. How much in Marcos and calories overall have u found success in?

I haven’t really been tracking past month or so (laziness + holidays) but I’m probably around the same macros & calories as you. I’m 5’6 140. Probably more. When I was at my leanest a few months ago I was around 1500-1600 cal macro split was 40%c/40%p/30%f. I kept my fat closer to the 20-25%. I had to gain about 5-6 lbs back to really start to see a difference. Now I’m about to go back into a cut to try to tighten things back up.
