Is your school holding their auction in person this winter or spring?

What will that mean for your scholarship fund, or are the proceeds for something else?

It takes quite a bit a time for the planning committee‘s to pull it off, so these things are already being planned for.

Now that we know vaccinations don’t stop the spread, why are we continuing to demand proof of vaccination as if that makes the event safer? I say this as someone who recently recovered from omicron after having been vaxxed and boosted, with a husband in the same boat and two tweens who also had it 4 months after receiving their initial 2 shots.

They should move these events to tents outdoors.

Because our nation's and our schools' current Covid policy is reactive, not proactive. it was created in the late summer with previous iterations and a hope that it would all be gone by spring with increased vaccination. None of the current guidelines acknowledge this is ALSO a pandemic of the vaccinated. Milder, but contracted by and spread by, yes. Our school isn't asking vaccinated close contacts to stay home or test out with rapid tests. Same thinking.

Ours was virtual the last 2 years and also successful. Even if the novelty is gone (which I’d personally disagree with), we couldn’t survive without the auction so I assume it would go virtual if necessary for a 3rd year. Right now scheduled for in person in early April.

It doesn't make sense to me to have a bunch of parents inside, celebrating and having this party to raise money when we are dealing with Omicron. Would the school want their students attending an event like this and then going to school on Monday?

Vaccination reduces the likelihood that you will have it. Full stop.

Ours just pushed from winter to spring, in person, adults only, vaccination required. Wasn't planning to go and still am not, but that's because I hate these things, not because of COVID.

But being with a crowd indoors still increases the likelihood of transmission.

Virtual again this year - last year's online version was more successful than prior in-person versions!

Moved to the Spring but I expect it will be canceled or virtual. We gave extra during the yearly fundraising drive since we don’t plan to attend if they have it. I haven’t been to a large gathering in two years and don’t expect to be ready for one anytime soon.

Currently planned for in person in March, with the auction also virtual. May change to 100% virtual - TBD. Last year was virtual. We will be attending virtually no matter what they decide - so much more comfortable/easy!

Neither. They’re not doing it for the 2nd year in a row.

I work in development, and for sure the novelty has worn off. Is it really going to be fun to stare at a screen again with a cocktail in hand? In our earliest conversations, our biggest donors are saying no thanks, just tell me where to send the check.

In-person. It was in early December. It went very well. Vaccine proof required.

It was before Omicron really descended.

Covid numbers were non-existent at the time at the school and all students and staff are 100% in vaccine compliance. It was required.

Now school is limiting in person events again due to Omicron.
