Curious to hear what schools are planning
Wow.. so weird.. I haven't even thought about the auction this year. Zero mention of it so far.
Just moved from Winter to Spring...
Our school usually has one in Spring anyway, but no mention of it this year yet (Although I don't really know when it is usually communicated since DC started at this school in Fall 2019 and Spring 2020, 2021 events didn't happen)
Moved to late spring….do people really want to go to these things anymore? Seems sort of frivolous given all the is going on, even if it does raise money for scholarship funds…
Moved to spring - I also always thought it seemed kind of frivolous (although not really any more now than before), but for some smaller schools, it can really be a very important fundraiser. And it's more "fun" than just donating money. Do people want to go? I kind of do - it's been hard enough to connect with anyone the past 2 years, so if things have improved pandemically speaking by spring, then yes, I'll for sure be there. |
I feel like it is more needed than ever, personally! |
Ours is switching to virtual.
Ours is a blast (K-8 school) and it is a good fundraiser for the school. Not frivolous IMO to bring the community together to have some fun, especially given all that is going on and for a good cause. |
I wish NPS would, on the field perhaps. Whyever not? Also, spring parent parties, class parties too.
Ours were held in the fall.
Did it in the Fall -- good call.
Is your school holding its auction…
Ours had one right before Christmas. Will have another one in the spring. Christmas was online . Not sure about the next one. I think they had planned to hold it in person, but now that Omicron has reared it's head, I'm not sure.
Ours is planned for indoors in March, proof of vaccination required. We did virtual the last two years, both very successful, but the novelty has definitely worn off. So, if conditions don't allow for an in-person event, we won't have it.
