Low iron while pregnant

I never had low iron in pregnancy despite eating vegetarian/pescatarian (I normally eat meat but it turned my stomach when i was preg). I used Nature Made prenatals so I think that helped keep it up.

Thanks!! I have a squatty potty so all prepared!

Awesome! I managed to avoid chronic hemorrhoids using mine. It's a lifesaver

Op here:
So my endocrinologist told me to take spatone liquid iron and then my OB told me to just take ferrous sulfate. Any idea which is better?

Cooking with iron and the like won’t raise your levels adequately if you’re actually anemic.

Look for a heme iron supplement like Proferrin (if you’re not vegetarian), which are generally better tolerated than the other ones. Gluconate is usually better tolerated than sulphate if you don’t want to go there every route.

Op here: I’ve been taking the Naturelo brand prenatals since TTC and they say they have iron but maybe not enough? Waiting for my endo to call and tell me his thoughts!
