+2. I wouldn't have been so quick to call the police. Would have let him hang out a little longer to see if he could get out on his own. Why couldn't they pull him out from the top? No way would I have let the fire department just tear into my fireplace/chimney like that without trying something else first. |
| He escaped from the hospital across the street. Was mentally unwell and intoxicated. |
| Not saying the theoretical issues for the homeowner aren't worth talking about, but isn't the homeowner here Holy Cross Hospital? That's what the article says. I doubt they're worried about the deductible. |
| How does someone look at all of those ground-level windows and think, nah, the chimney is a better way in? And how can someone be in the state of mind to think climbing down the chimney is a good idea, and also actually get onto the roof to do so? Does not compute. |
Let no one wonder why people don’t want stuff like that in their neighborhood. |
| It’s actually not possible to rob a house. Robbery requires force or the threat of force against a person. Houses are broken into or burglarized. Owners are lucky the guy broke the wall. I remember seeing news over the years about crooks who got stuck in the chimney and weren’t found until they were a long dead, withered sack of bones. |
Well maybe they can sue the hospital for the deductible. |
The hospital is the homeowner! |
Severely mentally ill and / or on drugs. |
