He got stuck and the fire brigade had to fish him out!!
Happened on Dameron Dr. Those poor homeowners - look at the damage to their chimney! https://wtop.com/montgomery-county/2022/01/police-man-gets-stuck-in-chimney-trying-to-rob-montgomery-co-home/ |
| I would imagine homeowners insurance will cover it. Unbelievable |
| Start a fire in the fireplace! |
|
Was he on drugs? I can't imagine someone with a full complement of neurons actually believing the flue is man-sized... |
Lol that was my first thought too. |
Insurance never actually covers the total costs of repairs. |
It doesn't look that small from the outside and it doesn't have a cap on it like most modern-homes. So I can see an idiot thinking 'here's an idea!' |
This. Deductible will be between $1,000 and $5,000. That’s a lot for most people to come up with simply because some jackass wanted to steal their stuff. I probably would’ve let his stupid a$$ die in there before I called the police. Less damage removing a dead body, and he’ll never victimize anyone else again. |
We have a $2K deductible so I'd be pissed. |
The deductible is certainly an issue. There may be some crime victims funds that would help out. And it is certainly worthy of a go fund me. As to letting someone die in your chimney, the damage would most certainly be worse given how bad a dead body would smell. And most people are not that callous. |
| There’s got to be more to the story. This would be an insane way to break into a house. The person must know them and/or be mentally ill. |
It’s not just the deductible. Pretty nailed on that once they file a claim their premiums will go up. |
Drugs I'm.guessing. |
Someome please start a go fund me for the homeowners. |
The county should fine the homeowner for not having a chimney cap. The thief should sue for unlawful detention. /s |
