180+ teachers/staff reported positive cases in the past 7 days.

Where did you see that?

And APS closed
Anonymous
Ha they closed because other districts are closed and that has created staffing issues.

I really hope we are at the end of hearing teachers say that school isn't childcare (not that many did, I really do love teachers).

“School isn’t childcare” is a fun little drumbeat of some on this board. Turns out that this closure is because school is in fact, childcare.

This is f$$$ing ridiculous. So teachers who live in Fairfax have to find childcare? What about THE REST OF US????

We definitely got 8 inches at our house. But the roads are clear.

Why are you confused? We had 8 at our house. Here's what WTOP reported:

Arlington County

Bailey’s Crossroads — 9.2 inches (1:10 p.m.)
Reagan National Airport — 6.7 inches (1 p.m.)

Completely boneheaded rationale. What’s the point of being a separate district of Arlington makes all their decisions based on neighboring districts?

They aren’t basing it on what FCPS is doing. They are basing it on the fact that they don’t have enough staff to open, which is due to FCPS being closed.

Madness. APD fails again. I might vote Republican.

Is this a troll? Do you not realize that those two things are exactly the same?
Anonymous
Yeah, distinction without a difference PP. Obviously the (overwhelmingly male) spouses of FCPS teachers don’t feel like doing child care, and now here we are.

yes that will surely help with teacher staffing issues.
